All paints used are from Army Painter unless otherwise noted.
This miniature was primed with Matt White spray. It was then given an overall coat of Banshee Brown, then drybrushed with multiple coats starting with pure Emperor Gold. Further coats mixed in more and more Bright Gold, until a coat of just Bright Gold. A final drybrush coat was made along the edges with 50/50 Emperor Gold and Parade Chrome (Shining Silver). Details include Parade Chrome (Shining Silver), Kurita Red (Blood Red), Ironclad Gray, and Matt Black. The base was finished with Apple Barrel Matte Black.

Maps! I love them, especially for BattleTech. I find the ebb and flow of the national borders endlessly fascinating. All of the maps in this post are based directly on official BattleTech sources, just reduced in size and colored to emphasize each state. This first map depicts the Inner Sphere in 2596, at the end of the Age of War and the beginning of the Star League. The ten major states of this period have formed, most of which will continue on through the centuries to come. In the center is the Terran Hegemony (gray). The Lyran Commonwealth is in blue, Free Worlds League in purple, green for the Capellan Confederation, yellow for the Federated Suns, and red for the Draconis Combine. The Periphery states are the Rim Worlds Republic (brown), pale teal for the Magistracy of Canopus, reddish-brown for the Taurian Concordat, and a deeper teal for the Outworlds Alliance. This miniature was sprayed with Matte White. The base coat is Marik Purple (AKA Purple Alchemy in the Speedpaint 1.0 range). Details include Parade Chrome (AKA Shining Silver), Ricol Red (AKA Pure Red), Ultramarine Blue, Death Commando (AKA Deep Gray) and Bounty Hunter Green (AKA Shamrock Green Speedpaint 2.0). Cover to 25 Years of Art and Fiction by Catalyst Game Labs Hello and welcome BattleTech fans! My name is Roland, and I'm a longtime BattleTech fan (since 1988) and one-time developer. In December of 2024 I posted a painted BattleTech miniature every day on Bluesky for a "'Mech Advent Calendar." I had so much fun that I promised to do the same thing for the entirety of 2025 - bold to the point of foolishness, I know. I decided to scale it back a bit. Every weekday I'll post a couple photos (front and back) of a painted BattleTech miniature. These will usually be members of the same Lance (Inner Sphere), Star (Clans), Level II (ComStar and Word of Blake), or Sept (Society).
