This miniature was primed with Matt White spray. The blue areas were given an coat of Steiner Blue and the white was touched up with Matt White and given a coat of Holy White. Details include Parade Chrome (Shining Silver), Ironclad Grey, Death Commando (Deep Gray), Gray Death (Ash Grey), Combat Wash (Deep Tone), Bounty Hunter Green (Shamrock Green), Matt Black, and Kurita Red (Blood Red). The base was painted with Matt Black.

Maps! I love them, especially for BattleTech. I find the ebb and flow of the national borders endlessly fascinating. All of the maps in this post are based directly on official BattleTech sources, just reduced in size and colored to emphasize each state. This first map depicts the Inner Sphere in 2596, at the end of the Age of War and the beginning of the Star League. The ten major states of this period have formed, most of which will continue on through the centuries to come. In the center is the Terran Hegemony (gray). The Lyran Commonwealth is in blue, Free Worlds League in purple, green for the Capellan Confederation, yellow for the Federated Suns, and red for the Draconis Combine. The Periphery states are the Rim Worlds Republic (brown), pale teal for the Magistracy of Canopus, reddish-brown for the Taurian Concordat, and a deeper teal for the Outworlds Alliance. Model: BattleMaster BLR-1G Mass and Tech Base: 85 tons (Assault) / Inner Sphere Miniature Source: BattleTech: A Game of Armored Combat Paint Scheme: Davion Brigade of Guards (pre-Federated Commonwealth) Notable Pilot: Hanse Davion All paints used are from Army Painter unless otherwise noted. This miniature was primed with Ultramarine Blue spray. It was then given a coat of Citadel Agrax Earthshade. The chest was painted with Ultramarine Blue, but then the entire piece was given instead a drybrush of Ultramarine Blue followed by Donegal Blue (Runic Cobalt). Details include Parade Chrome (Shining Silver), Ricol Red (Pure Red), Matt White, Bounty Hunter Green (Shamrock Green), Kurita Red (Blood Red), Ironclad Grey, Avalon Gray (Brigade Grey), and Widow Black (Grim Black). The Scorpion Empire caused the Blackout. No, seriously. Hear me out. The evidence is circumstantial, and in some cases one must make some leaps of logical faith, but it rings true. So here's the facts, as we know them. Just before the Wars of Reaving, Clan Goliath Scorpion trialed for and won the entire Eridani Light Horse contingent on Huntress. Many of the former SLDF troops were accepted as bondsmen, then quickly elevated to warrior status. The Scorpions have always had a fetish for historical artifacts, and the Light Horse were a living artifact; a unit that could trace its history directly to the first Star League. This became a point of contention during the actual Wars of Reaving, but Clan Goliath Scorpion claimed that all of these Inner Sphere warriors had perished in combat. This was a lie. At least one former Horseman may have been seen in Nuevo Castille during the conquest of that region, and in any case the Scorpions were caught using genetic material from these troops ...
